Lately, I've decided to have a look at the industry standards, and for doing that, I've chosen two of the BEST funds that ever existed on the planet: - Berkshire Hathaway (run by Warren Buffet) - Fidelity Magellan (run by Peter Lynch from 1977 - 1990)
I'm attaching an excel sheet that shows how much these two funds earned on a Y-O-Y basis for the last 37 years. Note:- 1.The group of cells that are marked in blue denotes the fund's performance under the reign of Peter Lynch. 2.The columns in grey denotes the Y-O-Y returns in terms of Percentage. Conclusion: since 1980 till 2017, Berkshire Hathaway and Fidelity Magellan has managed to make 22.34% and 13.46% per year on an average; respectively. Excel attached. Buffett_Lynch.xls (22.5 KB)
